Garretson named
A Cincinnati lawyer who served as special master in the Archdiocese of Louisville settlement and Cincinnati's racial profiling settlement has been chosen as the administrator for the Cincinnati Archdiocese of Cincinnati sexual abuse settlement.
Matt Garretson was selected by the tribunal set up to administer the $3 million fund, hear cases and distribute the money.
Garretson is an adjunct professor at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he earned a law degree after receiving an undergraduate degree at Yale University.
The tribunal will begin issuing public notices within two weeks explaining how those who wish to participate in the process can file claims.
The Archdiocese, after being convicted last year of failing to report crimes of priests sexually abusing children, agreed to set up the $3 million settlement fund.
The tribunal making those decisions includes Cincinnati attorney Robert Stachler and former Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judges Ann Marie Tracey and Thomas Nurre.
